Hire staff, ship games and build a game studio into a company over twenty years.
A garage, two founders, and just enough cash to get started. Where will your company be in 20 years?
The first 5 in-game years are free; one purchase unlocks the full game.
IGame is a portrait, pixel-art game company tycoon. Pick projects, hire staff, ship games, read the reviews, make payroll — and every run can grow into a completely different company.
■ Three paths, three kinds of company
· The studio: master which genres and styles click, and ship hit after hit
· The console maker: bet years of cash on your own hardware and keep the platform cut for yourself
· The publisher: sign outside teams' games and profit from a sharp eye
You can only go deep on one or two per run — the path you skipped is your reason to play again.
■ A different world every run
Rival consoles, yearly trends, who's available to hire, and this run's rival CEO all change from run to run.
■ A rival with a name and a grudge
Your rival announces games in advance, copies what you're working on, and poaches your people. Launch in the same month and it's a head-to-head; beat them to market and you steal the spotlight. Pass them in fans and you can buy them out.
■ Numbers you can follow
Four critics score every game. First-month sales, long-tail revenue and platform fees are all itemized, so you always know why a game hit or flopped.
■ Learn the industry
Genre and style matchups and each console's audience are hidden. Your codex records everything you've seen, but it gives no stat bonuses: next run you'll know more, not start stronger.
■ Hire, train, keep
Every employee has skills, potential and a contract. Train them, decide who gets renewed, and watch out for rival offers.
■ Made for short sessions
Play 10–30 minutes at a time, quit anytime, with automatic saves. A full 20-year run takes about 3–5 hours and ends with a rating across five areas: survival, business, reputation, popularity and team. You also earn a title.
■ Pricing
The first 5 in-game years are free. To keep going, unlock the full game with a single one-time purchase. No ads, no energy timers, no subscriptions, no internet required.
